There are signs of increasing tension between the US and the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. America has made it clear that if the Taliban regime wants world recognition, it will have to make major changes in its policies and methods. On the other hand, Taliban had made it clear a few days ago that it will not decide its policies according to the world. The Taliban had said – we do not need recognition as much as the world needs to accept us.

What the
US said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday – If the Taliban government wants that it should be recognized by the world and they also rule like other countries, then it will have to change the way of governance and policies. We want human rights to be guaranteed. People should get full freedom to live life and strict action should be taken against terrorism. In the new year, we will try to strengthen the economy of Afghanistan, there is a plan to increase the cash flow there.

According to Pakistan’s newspaper ‘The Dawn’, the US has recently transferred about 2.8 million dollars to the Afghan Trust Fund. However, the Taliban government will not be able to use this money, because it has all kinds of conditions.

Stubborn stand of Taliban
Many countries of the world including America and India are helping Afghanistan on humanitarian basis, but the Taliban government does not seem ready to change its attitude. In a conversation with Khama News Agency, Taliban spokesman Inamullah Samgani said that there is no need for Afghanistan to recognize the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan (Taliban government). The world needs it, because everyone will benefit from it.

What kind of government was there in Taliban 1.0?
The Taliban ruled Afghanistan during 1996-2001. During that time the Taliban government called itself the Islamic Emirate. Although the Taliban government was recognized by only a few countries at that time, about 90% of Afghanistan was ruled by the Taliban.
